Development.

Layout and keeping things simple

In development of my project I began with creating the first scene in my plan to make things easy and simple I go by creating folders in adobe animate and having all frames in that pacific folder this way the timeline wouldn’t get too crazy and filled with frames.

Setting the stage

In creating the first scene I decided to go by replicating a indoor environment that would suit the beginning sequence this would be changed as i progress but in the term of animation this would stay as a sketch.

With each scene created I run a test that can be done in adobe animate by doing this I can see what it performs  when runed like any normal video the problem myself disliked was that adobe animates speed this may of been my animation knowledge but the animation would play very quickly and the speed was fast and pacy in the frame by frame method I should of used the technique of having each frame last 2 seconds this gives it a very smooth slow but quick tone if it was not that then it would be adobe animates way of speed two methods of changing this is by finding out how the frame rate setting works or when i take it into editing i slow down scenes I want to be fast.

As you can see below this is the type of speed i wanted it to be and when converted into a simple GIF it before pretty well if u notice when running towards the door it appears very quick and snappy this is a good technique to use in saving time and its not very noticeable unless pointed out.

Characters

In using as concepts for characters i imminently went in research and looking for try hard appearances that are common in the game of GTA5 online i went with there basic attire of a helmet and breathing device type mask.

Concept I went with and the drawn out version at best (my version is on the right)

The in game version ist of course appealing but when transferred into more cartoonist style it looks a lot better of course at the current time of development no color as been acquitted but it will be mostly black.

As common element all the characters with in the animation use a bright colorful color scheme this is because it makes it more attractive to viewers and makes it easy to see throughout the environment and creates a wacky feel to the animation.

The left image was created by me using Animate. The center image is my inspiration, taken from my game console (screenshot from PlayStation). The right image was created by me on ipad.

with this character I got from my own in game character I followed the design breezily and left out a few parts for good reasoning i left out the helmet like feature and the scarf as interns of animation simplistic designs make it easy to give a character more moment and life to them having to many additional things can make it hard to animate.

I chose this as I wouldn’t want to miss a chance to apply my own character in a animation as well i like the red and black color scheme as it is simple but looks good.

This character is based of my gfs custom character with in the game as your notice follows the same color scheme as mine iv drawn out 2 versions one used with a iPad using adobe Photoshop and the other using adobe animate the adobe animate is the less detailed one as it would take a lot of time to add a lot of detail to every frame so i go with a basic design the first image is more a art like style than animation style

This character used in the animation is based from a in game character agent 14 who guilds u during heists and a few other events with in the game i figured this would be a known character to recognize when people watch it and as well goes by a simple design so its easier to animate

This character inst based of anything and is only randomly designed to fill in a male slot and uses the ninja like style of running and is smaller than the rest their is no inspiration for this character it is a made up design

This character is also randomly designed and fills in the second flyer role as well as female to replace what iv based of from the base line of my project their is no inspiration for this character it is a made up design

 

Running animations

This is an animation that I create on Animate.

in my idea of creating a running animation for this character i wanted to replicate a solider like fast base running style while holding onto a weapon  this idolizes and creates a personality with in the type of moment this character has

This is an animation that I create on Animate.

for this running animation i wanted to create a hefty like style that would replicate someone tall and so i got a sprint like almost jumpy running style which is to a basic degree someone sprinting. I searched Google for a ninja running cycle and this is what I found (which I like and will try and replicate).

for this character i needed a small type so i traced over a handy ninja style running that could go well for who ever  put on the template.

Test 2

At this stage iv developed and completed scene 2 it was very quick and easy once i learnt about the function called twining this function allows u to get any image or animation you’ve drawn and move it from one location to another so for example this scene iv got all running animations tweened them from one side of the screen to another and the mind trick here is i also did it with the background so they may look like there moving but they actually only move position twice the background also has a tween which creates a moving environment.

 

Here is a visual display of the animation being tested through a phone as your notice and as i stated motion dose not work during a normal play test and only through the test feature that at the time did not work due to a storage issue which also prevented many frames from appearing as nothing.

you will notice that color has been added since and many areas are not fully colorized and instead in black and white outline this is so I can make edits and go back to make changes anytime as i plan to add details to environment and characters after it is all complete

 

Here is a update on my project as of far i have overcome the problem with storage by moving to a new pc unfortunately the main file got broken to solve this i aquierd a old version of the animation and then imported updated frames to the old version the v

Contextual Research

in the creation of animation in the best interest i researched a lot into animation and learning the ways of different moment types as i am following along something as it was a chase type of scene running around like wacky cartoons was what i was going  for and with that i looked a lot of running animations and styles of running that u can go for depending what type u want to go for on a character for example i looked at alot of images and examples like this below to understand the way of human body movement and reclify  that in 2D and 3D this is called a run cycle which is a frame by frame diagram of a literal step by step of moment. To refresh the idea i am creating a parody of the teen titans mad mod chase a video down below will present that version which i am recreating in my own concept using custom characters made and inspired by a game.  (YouTube, 2019)

I wanted to do this as i have gotten a interest in the process of animation so by learning and teaching myself i wanted to put those skills to the test by doing so i felt like recreating a scene from classic TV series but changing it completely to present a joke with in it by using a common culture in the game of GTAV a joke people who play would understand which would be the audience as well as those who have watched the old show which in term brings two types of audience together.

As i am creating a cartoon like chaise scene I have researched into other ones that i can use for inspirational ideas to add to my current. and from what i have found they all contain fast wacky movement and cartoonist humor where the so and so characters pop up from random numinous objects or walk through weird endless corridors as well as break the lows and physics of gravity.

 

 

Here is a classic example of a chase scene the Benny hill ones this flows along the wacky chases with humours music along the side

 

as a obvious choice scooby doo is one to choose which follows the same concept as the rest
